Message from Mick Evan – Head coach
I know we’ve not yet completed the county championships, but the qualification consideration times have been declared for the upcoming North West regional championships. Just for a simple overview, in terms of performance level I think of it in this way, in ascending order:
District (e,g, Liverpool)
County (lancs)
Regional (North West)
National (English)
British
European
World and Olympics!
A few of our swimmers have these times already, so I expect them to enter. As for everyone else, these times must be achieved prior to the entry closing date, at a level 1 – 4 gala. It gives the kids something to aim for! Remember that the age is what age you will be on 31st December 2022.
All sessions are being held over 3 weekends, as follows
The Swim England North West Summer Regionals will be held on the following dates at Liverpool Aquatics Centre:
26th and 27th March 2022
23rd and 24th April 2022
30th April and 1st May 2022

I will be focussing training over the next 3 months around these events, and we even have the excellent Easter course prior to the second 2 weekends.
It’s a real achievement to get a regional qualification time, and takes a lot of hard work. So let’s encourage all to try to at least progress these times.
